Benadak Herbal Clinic supports Ho Teaching Hospital with GH₵50,000 worth of herbal medicines

Benadak Herbal Clinic has donated ten boxes of herbal medicines, valued at approximately GH₵50,000, to the Herbal Medicine Centre of the Ho Teaching Hospital. The gesture forms part of the clinic’s contribution towards enhancing healthcare delivery and promoting the integration of herbal medicine into mainstream medical practice.

Presenting the items, the Chief Executive Officer of Benadak Herbal Clinic, Dr. Ben Tutu, said the donation was to support the hospital in administering first aid treatment for accident victims, provide immune boosters, and offer alternative remedies for the aged and children. He said the move aligns with the clinic’s mission to complement conventional healthcare and improve patient outcomes through safe and effective herbal solutions.

Receiving the items on behalf of management, officials of the Ho Teaching Hospital expressed appreciation to Benadak Herbal Clinic for the timely support and pledged to ensure the medicines are put to good use to benefit patients.

A representative of the Traditional Medicine Practice Council, Ms. Bridgette Emefa Gborglah, commended the the Clinic for the gesture, describing it as a “significant step towards the integration of traditional medicine into Ghana’s healthcare system.” She said herbal medicine has long served as a cornerstone of healthcare and called for stronger collaborations between herbal practitioners and conventional medical institutions.

The partnership between Benadak Herbal Clinic and the Ho Teaching Hospital is expected to open avenues for further research, training, and policy development in traditional medicine practice.

Benadak Herbal Clinic has over the years undertaken several community-based health initiatives, including free medical screenings and educational scholarships. The latest donation reinforces its commitment to improving health and well-being across communities in the Volta Region and beyond.
