The 2002 Year Group of the Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (BHOBU) has donated 140 pantry bowls with lids and two food trolleys to support kitchen and dining hall operations at Bishop Herman College in Kpando. The gesture, done in collaboration with their female counterparts, the 2002 Past Ola Girls Association (POGA), is aimed at easing the challenges students face during meal times.
Presenting the items on behalf of the group, President of BHOBU 2002, Mac-Bansah Aikins, explained that the donation was to reduce long queues at the dining hall caused by the inadequate number of pantry bowls and ladles. He expressed optimism that the support would save students quality time for teaching and learning, while easing daily struggles during dining.

Mr. Aikins noted that the donation adds to earlier contributions made by the group, including dustbins worth over 15,000 Cedis, teaching and learning materials, a water dispenser, and the installation of a durable metal door between the dining hall and pantry. He added that a ramp was also constructed to ease the safe movement of food trolleys and reduce the workload of kitchen staff.
Project Leader of BHOBU 2002, Harry Ameti, urged the students to take proper care of the items to ensure they benefit future generations. He described the donation as a legacy of sacrifice and love from the alumni.
Receiving the items, the Assistant Headmaster of Bishop Herman College, Timothy Agboka, commended BHOBU 2002 for their timely support. He observed that limited dining facilities often force students to eat in several shifts, disrupting academic schedules and extracurricular activities. He praised the year group for demonstrating the College’s guiding motto, “Sicut Miles Christi”- As Soldiers of Christ – by serving others.

Mr. Agboka assured the donors that the school would safeguard and maintain the items for long-term use. He also called on other year groups and stakeholders to emulate the example of BHOBU 2002 in supporting the College’s infrastructural and logistical needs.
The donation ceremony was followed by a symposium organized jointly by BHOBU 2002 and POGA 2002, aimed at inspiring the current students to uphold values of service and responsibility.
