The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced Tuesday, 30th December 2025, as the date for the rerun of the Parliamentary Election in the Kpandai Constituency.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, 10th December 2025, the Commission said the decision follows a ruling by the Tamale High Court on 24th November 2025, directing a fresh election within 30 days. The court’s order was reinforced by a formal notification from the Clerk to Parliament on 9th December 2025, declaring the Kpandai seat vacant.
According to the EC, the rerun will be contested by the three candidates who participated in the 2024 Parliamentary Election in the constituency.
The statement, signed by Mr. Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation at the EC, assured the public of the Commission’s readiness to conduct the poll in line with its mandate.
The EC called on stakeholders, including political parties, the electorate, and civil society groups, to cooperate to ensure a peaceful, credible, and transparent electoral process.
More updates on the rerun are expected in the coming days as the Commission finalises operational arrangements.
