Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited has officially opened its newest branch in Ho, the Volta Regional capital, as part of efforts to extend modern banking services and promote financial inclusion across the country.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Tolu Dada, described the opening as part of the bank’s strategic plan to establish a presence in all regions of Ghana.
“Our expansion into Ho reaffirms our commitment to bringing banking closer to our customers and contributing meaningfully to the economic growth of every community we serve,” he said.
Mr. Dada said the Ho branch, the bank’s 38th nationwide, would provide accessible, innovative financial solutions for individuals, small businesses, and corporate clients. He emphasised that the bank’s services could be accessed both physically and digitally, underscoring the Bank’s reputation as a technology-driven institution.

“We are here to support the community and grow with it,” he added, pledging the bank’s continued investment in education, youth empowerment, and local development.
The Divisional Head for Corporate Communication and Experience Mrs Agnes Owusu-Afram, recalled that GTCO’s relationship with Ho began in 2022, when the bank refurbished and equipped the computer laboratory of the Ho Technical University Basic School with 60 computers.
“That project deepened our connection with this community and strengthened our resolve to establish a permanent presence,” she said.
She explained that the bank’s transition from GTBank to GTCO reflected the wider restructuring of the Guaranty Trust Group into a holding company with interests in pensions, asset management, and other financial services while the Ghana entity remains a fully-licensed commercial bank regulated by the Bank of Ghana.

Togbe Adu Bobi IV, the Afetorfia of Ho Bankoe, who represented the Agbogbomefia of Asogli, Togbe Afede XIV, welcomed the bank and urged staff to be customer-friendly and community-minded.
“When you are flexible, understanding, and friendly with people, they will carry the name of the bank everywhere,” he said. “You are coming to stay, and Ho expects you to make this branch exceptional.”
He added that the establishment of another financial institution in Ho was a sign of economic progress that would stimulate business activity and create job opportunities for the youth.

The new branch is located near the Ho Central Market and is equipped with modern facilities to serve individuals, small enterprises, and corporate clients across the Volta Region.
