President Mahama to Host Zimbabwe’s President Mnangagwa on Three-Day State Visit

President John Dramani Mahama will from Wednesday, April 1, 2026, host the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Emmerson Mnangagwa, on a three-day State Visit to Ghana.

A statement issued by the Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, said President Mnangagwa is expected to arrive at the Kotoka International Airport at 3:00 PM, where he will be accorded full military honours. These will include the inspection of a Guard of Honour mounted by the Ghana Armed Forces and a 21-gun salute.

In honour of the visiting Head of State, President Mahama will later host a State Banquet to celebrate the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Ghana and Zimbabwe.

The statement noted that the highlight of the visit will be bilateral talks to be held at the Peduase Lodge. Prior to the main discussions, the two leaders will hold a tête-à-tête, after which they will lead their respective delegations in talks aimed at strengthening cooperation in key sectors.

These include trade, tourism, health, sanitation, agriculture, anti-corruption efforts, and strategies to address unemployment.

The engagements are expected to culminate in the signing and exchange of several Memoranda of Understanding covering areas of mutual interest.

As part of his itinerary, President Mnangagwa will also tour the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre and the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant, where he will be briefed on Ghana’s advancements in healthcare delivery and waste management technologies.

He will further visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s founding President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

President Mnangagwa will depart Ghana on Friday, April 3, 2026, and will be seen off with full departure honours at the Jubilee Lounge.

The visit is expected to further deepen diplomatic relations and promote strategic cooperation between Ghana and Zimbabwe.
