Ho Municipal Director of Education Urges Bye-Laws to Curb Night Loitering by Pupils

The Ho Municipal Director of Education, Dr. Esther Adzo Adzimah-Yeboah, has called on traditional authorities and local assemblies to introduce bye-laws to restrict school children from loitering in town at night.

She made the appeal during the distribution of 15,000 exercise books to pupils in the Ho Municipality by the Member of Parliament for Ho Central Constituency, Hon. Edem Kofi Kpotosu.

Dr. Adzimah-Yeboah expressed concern about the increasing trend of learners staying out late at night, warning that it negatively affects their studies and exposes them to social vices.

“Those of you who like staying out in the nights, after 10 o’clock, at times I have been seeing you, it’s not the best. I will be very glad if there could be a by-law banning them from staying late in the night so that they will have time for their studies,” she stated.

The Director further urged parents to take greater responsibility for the moral and academic guidance of their children, noting that schools alone cannot ensure holistic education.

Her appeal is expected to spark community-wide conversations about protecting the welfare of learners and promoting a more disciplined environment for academic excellence in the Ho Municipality.
