The Volta Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has called on the management of Zipline to strengthen collaboration with the media in highlighting the company’s impact on healthcare delivery in Ghana.
The call was made by the Regional Chairman of the Association, Dr. Harrison Bele, during an engagement with Zipline officials and a tour of the Anum facility in the Eastern region. He commended the company for its innovative use of drone technology to deliver life-saving medical supplies, particularly to remote and hard-to-reach communities.

Dr. Bele stressed the importance of public awareness in sustaining trust and confidence in Zipline’s operations. “The work Zipline is doing is remarkable, but it is equally important that citizens are well informed about its role in saving lives. The media stands ready to support by telling these stories effectively,” he noted.
He further urged the company’s management to regularly engage with journalists and provide access to information that would enable accurate and comprehensive reporting on its activities. According to him, such collaboration will help demystify drone technology while showcasing Ghana’s leadership in healthcare innovation.

Mr. Roger Frimpong, Head of Business Operations at Zipline expressed appreciation for the support from the media and assured that the company values transparency and community engagement as part of its long-term strategy.
The call by Volta GJA adds to growing recognition of Zipline’s role in transforming healthcare delivery in Ghana, and reinforces the need for closer collaboration between technology providers, the media, and health institutions to ensure that innovation continues to serve the public good.
