Afram Plains North DCE Pledges Support for President Mahama’s Big Push Agenda

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afram Plains North, Hon. Kate Mawusi Babanawo, has reaffirmed her commitment to advancing key infrastructural projects in alignment with President Mahama’s Big Push agenda.

Speaking on GBC Volta Star Radio’s Morning Show with host Tony Mark-Boye, Hon. Babanawo highlighted her administration’s resolve to complete major legacy projects, including schools, hospitals, and road networks connecting neighboring districts. She described these initiatives as essential to unlocking the district’s economic potential and improving the quality of life for residents.

The Big Push agenda which is a $10 billion infrastructure programme spearheaded by President Mahama focuses on accelerating national development through strategic investments in roads, energy, health, education, and agriculture.

Hon. Babanawo noted that Afram Plains North’s development priorities, such as enhancing sanitation and security, align closely with the initiative’s objectives. She cited the construction of modern toilet facilities at local markets and the clearance of refuse at the Donkorkrom market as recent achievements under her leadership.

Addressing security concerns, the DCE assured residents that steps were being taken to regulate the activities of Fulani herdsmen in the district through collaboration with relevant stakeholders. She appealed for patience and cooperation from residents as the assembly continues to address developmental challenges.

Hon. Babanawo emphasized that the completion of ongoing projects would strengthen agricultural productivity, reduce poverty, and promote economic growth within Afram Plains North in line with the broader goals of the Big Push agenda.
