Renovation works at the Ho Sports Stadium is progressing steadily as contractors intensify efforts to prepare the facility for two major national events including the 7th Volta Trade and Investment Fair and the 2025 National Farmers’ Day celebrations. The 7th edition of the Volta Trade and Investment Fair is scheduled for 26th November to 8th December 2025, while the 41st National Farmers’ Day celebrations is set for 5th December 2025
A visit to the stadium shows significant improvements across various sections of the project, which is being undertaken to enhance the region’s premier sporting facility ahead of the upcoming events and to boost its long-term use for sports and community activities.

Key components of the ongoing upgrade include an improved drainage system aimed at preventing flooding on the pitch and walkways, the construction of new toilet facilities to improve convenience for spectators, and the replacement of worn-out seats across designated stands.
Work is also progressing on the installation of new shade structures to provide better comfort for fans in the open stands. The stadium compound has undergone extensive leveling, while weeds and overgrown vegetation have been cleared to restore the facility’s neat appearance. Painting works are also underway, giving the stadium a refreshed look ahead of completion.
Contractors say the works are being carried out to align the facility with modern stadium standards and to ensure its readiness for both sporting and high-profile national engagements.

The Volta Region is expected to host two major events including the 7th edition of the Volta Trade and Investment Fair which is scheduled for 26th November to 8th December 2025, and the 41st National Farmers’ Day celebrations which is also set for 5th December 2025.
The upgrade is thus expected to help host these two events and strengthen the stadium’s capacity to host competitions, support athlete development, and provide a more conducive environment for training and recreational activities across the region.
The National Sports Authority in the Volta Region has in a press statement expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and says it remains committed to ensuring that the Ho Sports Stadium is fully prepared for the upcoming events and continues to serve as a modern, functional sporting hub for the region.
