The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has officially opened the 7th edition of the Volta Trade and Investment Fair in Ho, calling on stakeholders and citizens to support efforts to make the region a leading investment destination in Ghana and beyond.
The fair, which is being held under the theme “Volta Rising: Building Global Partnerships for a Thriving 24-Hour Economy,” aims to promote trade, attract investors, and showcase the region’s economic potential across key sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, crafts, and tourism.
Addressing the gathering at the official opening ceremony, Hon. Gunu expressed appreciation to the fair’s partners, sponsors, and organisers for their commitment to ensuring the success of the event. He described the fair as a vital platform for promoting development in the Volta Region.

“The fair brings national and international investors to the region, creating opportunities for funding, partnership and expansion of local businesses,” he said.
The Minister outlined ten key benefits of the trade and investment fair, including the promotion of local products, job creation, tourism development, and strengthening of the regional economy. He noted that the event offers valuable networking opportunities for entrepreneurs, policymakers, and investors while enhancing capacity building for small and medium enterprises.
“Hosting a well-organised trade and investment fair strengthens the Volta Region’s image as a vibrant economic hub, attracting future events, investors and development projects for sustainable growth,” Hon. Gunu stated.

He emphasized that the Volta Region was fast becoming “the best investment destination in Ghana and beyond,” adding that such initiatives were crucial for boosting the local economy and creating jobs for the youth.
Hon. Gunu also announced that the fair, which runs into December, will coincide with the National Farmers’ Day celebrations scheduled for 1st to 5th December, during which the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is expected to address Ghanaian farmers and fisherfolk.
The Volta Trade and Investment Fair has over the years provided a platform for local and international businesses to connect, innovate, and explore opportunities within the region’s fast-growing economic landscape.
